See what centre has to offer!
People in Atherstone will be able to see how a nursery in the town has been transformed.
The Atherstone Early Years Centre in Kings Road completed a major re-building programme last year and will be opening its doors to the community to let people from the town see what’s on offer.
The open day is on 4th February between 10am and 1pm.
As well as traditional nursery care for children aged three and over, there are now a myriad of community services.
Parents can come along to play sessions with their babies, and health visitors help to offer advice and support on parenting.
The Citizens Advice Bureau will hold surgeries at the centre, while there are training opportunities for adults to learn new skills from Warwickshire County Council’s Adult and Community Learning team.
Evening classes are also on offer, with courses on first aid currently running, and the centre also acts as a base for people working in childcare in North Warwickshire to get advice, train or borrow resources to use in their own nurseries.
Currently more than 130 families use the centre every week, and for some the link with the Kings Road site stretches back generations.
Headteacher Helen Hurst said: “A lot of people know the site and have seen the building emerge but they might not know what really goes on here, and we want to give everyone the chance to see this fantastic facility that offers services to people of all ages.”
