Grand designs for Wolverton Primary
Pupils from Wolverton Primary School in Norton Lindsey will be working with the County Council’s Environmental Design team today to come up with new ideas for the school grounds.
The School Council, representing pupils from each year group, will work with Environmental Design to carry out a site survey of the school grounds before drawing up design ideas for various areas.
The consultation is being run according to Learning Through Landscape’s ‘Process of Change’ for school grounds’ developments. Environmental Design is an accredited school grounds’ facilitator for Learning Through Landscapes and is listed in their professional directory.
Jill Knowles, Head teacher at Wolverton Primary said: "This is a splendid opportunity for the children to be involved through the school council in the redevelopment of their school grounds. The PTA is raising the money and we welcome the input of the County Council’s Environmental Design Team in advising us on the project.”
Kathrine Brooks, Urban Design Assistant with the County Council, added: “This is a great chance for the children to get involved in the design process. We will be working with them to come up with lots of ideas to improve the grounds for educational activity as well as creative play.”
