Have you got what it takes to enter Trail Quest?
If you like cycling and the adventures of the great outdoors, then this is the event for you – Atherstone’s Trail Quest!
The quest, which is being run by ‘The Attic Racers’ of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, will take place on Sunday 19 February at Atherstone Fire Station, Kings Avenue. Registration will run from 9am to 10.15am. Once registered you can begin the quest and go at your own pace. Start times run from 9 to 11am.
Upon registration you will be given a map with checkpoints marked on it. Each checkpoint will be worth a different amount of points and you will have three hours to collect as many points as you can, before you return back to the starting point.
The trail will take place around the roads and bridleways of the Atherstone area and Merevale’s private estate, which has been kindly opened for the event. The terrain on the estate has single tracks through woodland areas to flat riding, which means that you don’t have to be extremely fit to take part. The cost to enter the competition is £8.00 per person or £16.00 per team of two. Money raised will go towards the maintenance of Merevale Church.

“This is a great event for everyone to enjoy. It doesn’t matter how much cycling experience you have, as our trail quest is more like a treasure hunt with three hours to get to as many of the checkpoints as you can. You are free to decide on your own route and pedal at a pace, which suits your fitness level, as this is not a race. You can cycle the event on your own, team up with a buddy or you could even make it a family event! ”
