Roll up for learning fun
Free courses are being run for adults in Nuneaton to give them the chance to have fun while learning new skills.
They are being held at Etone Community School and Technology College in Leicester Road. Enrolment is being held at the school from 6pm on 20 February, and the courses start two days later.
There is the chance for families to make story sacks together, to bring popular children’s tales to life. English lessons are being held for people who speak it as a second language, while there are computing sessions for beginners and those taking the next steps in IT.
In addition there is the opportunity to rustle up some tasty dishes from around the globe with the Cooking Around the World course.
All the courses run on Wednesday evenings for two hours and finish on 5 April. The courses are being run by Warwickshire County Council’s Adult Community Learning team.
Manager Amanda Franklin-Walker said: “Some people think of learning as sitting in rows of desks with someone talking at you. These sessions are very active, great fun and informal. We are holding them because we know people in the community want the chance to try different things, possibly as a first step to taking a college course, and are looking forward to a good turn out.”
