WI make toys for Rugby Early Years

Children in Rugby will be enjoying a colourful world of new toys thanks to members of a local women’s institute.

Rugby Early Years Education & Childcare Centre provide a Resource Library free of charge to providers of childcare across the borough of Rugby, including nurseries, out of school care and childminders.

As a special project Dunchurch & Thurlaston WI have made a selection of resource items for the library, including small bean bag frogs and storybook figures, mainly on a numerical or colour theme.

They are being handed over to staff at the centre, which is based in Webb Drive, Brownsover, and run by Warwickshire County Council.

Children from Bridges Day Care will receive the resources from the Women’s Institution on behalf of Rugby Early Years at a special presentation.

Centre manager Angela Moore said: “This is a fantastic addition to the library, which is very popular with childminders and people who run nurseries and out of school care. The resources are fun for children and educational too and the contribution of members of the WI is greatly appreciated. Children will benefit from their efforts for years to come.”
