Benefits for Coaches at Stratford Park and Ride
Warwickshire County Council has opened its new Park & Ride for Stratford-upon-Avon and is planning an official launch for this summer.
Based at Bishopton, on the northern edge of Stratford-upon-Avon adjacent to the A46 and A4300, the innovative scheme offers a valuable alternative for commuters in terms of getting to work, visiting and shopping in Stratford Town Centre other than the car.
The facility opened on 21st November 2005 and the County Council is keen to utilise other sustainable travel methods in relation to the site including:
· Providing accessibility for coaches to enable them to park at the site
· Providing provision for a coach interchange facility allowing coach operators to pick up and set down passengers on site
Reasons for Coach Operators to use the Site
The Stratford Park & Ride site offers a state-of-the-art customer service building offering your customers a high-quality waiting environment for coaches consisting of a waiting room, toilets, information displays, a public telephone and vending machine. The site is very secure with CCTV provision and constant supervision by permanent on-duty site attendants.
The site also presents an alternative location for coaches to park rather than in the congested town centre where parking charges are significantly higher.
Your drivers will be allowed free Park & Ride bus travel to and from the town centre.
The site is easy to use and convenient - coach operators could pre-book their parking space thus avoiding the inevitable capacity problems at the town centre coach parks in the peak season.
The site provides parking for around 725 cars so there will be plenty of space available for passengers to park their vehicles and offers seamless interchange.
