An experiment using OpenCalais and Google Maps to tag news stories

Greetings from Dubrovnik!

Adults are being invited to an evening of aural delights with two of England’s most entertaining storytellers.

Visitors to Rugby Library will be treated to an enthralling and skilled performance from the Storytelling Café that will transport them to worlds beyond their wildest dreams, where fantastic becomes a reality.

Graham Langley, who has been presenting Storytelling Cafes throughout the region for the last five years, will be joined by Jasna Held who discovered the power of storytelling during the war in Croatia when she began telling tales to children sheltering from the bombing in Dubrovnik.

She is a unique performer and a big hit at last year’s Beyond the Borders festival. Jasna brings to Storytelling Cafe stories of the region quite different to the ones we have heard in recent years.

Jessica Dunnicliff, Stock and Reader Development Librarian for East Warwickshire said: “Storytelling events in libraries are usually just for children, so adults often miss out. The performance at Rugby Library promises to be absolutely magical. We are really excited to have Graham and Jasna visiting us; their reputation precedes them.”

The Storytelling Café is appearing at the library Wednesday 8 March 2006 at 7.30pm for one night only. Tickets only cost £3.00 and are available from Rugby Library, Little Elborow Street, Rugby, CV21 3BZ. Refreshments will be provided.
