What’s your view on `waste’?
Two weeks into a widespread consultation on the future planning policies on waste issues in Warwickshire, residents are being called upon not to miss out on the chance to make their voices heard.
People are being urged to take advantage of the current consultation, which will play a key part in creating the Waste Development Framework.
Warwickshire County Council has produced a paper outlining the waste issues in the county and possible options for dealing with them. The local authority would like to hear from residents on which options they think the council should pursue in the Waste Development Framework Core Strategy.
If residents wish to propose alternative options to the ones put forward in the Issues and Options paper they are welcome to do so.
This strategy will establish the framework within which applications for waste disposal facilities should be assessed.
To make their views known, the people of Warwickshire can fill in the Waste Core Strategy - Issues and Options consultation questionnaire, either online at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/wastecorestrategy, by visiting their local library, the receptions of Shire Hall or Barrack Street in Warwick, or borough or district council planning receptions.
Copies are also available by contacting 01926 412538, or by email at planningstrategy@warwickshire.gov.uk. All views should be returned by 10 April.
Cllr Chris Saint, the county Cabinet member with responsibility for planning policy, said: “We want people to understand, discuss and challenge the ‘Waste Core Strategy - Issues and Options Paper’; in the interest of ensuring that Warwickshire is addressing the right issues in the preparation of the Waste Development Framework.”
