Snitterfield scouts boot up for charity

The Warwickshire County Council car park at Cape Road is again the scene of a car boot sale on Saturday March 25th as 1st Bearley and Snitterfield Scout Group host a fundraising event.

The county council has made the facility available to local charities and organisations over the last 12 years; this year will see over a dozen organisations benefiting from the process.

1st Bearley and Snitterfield Group’s car boot sale will see the scouts collecting the pitch fees and having their own stall to raise funds.  As well as supporting its work with over 60 young people in the Snitterfield area, the money will help the scouts to support the work of Mencap, one of the charities supported by the group.

Councillor Richard Hobbs, portfolio holder for community safety, said:  “I am really pleased that the county has made its land available for the use of the scout group.

“We are keen to encourage young people to get involved in activities that will divert them and scouts’ activities allow these young people to make a positive contribution to their communities.”

The car boot sale will run from 8am to 12.30pm on Saturday 25 March with no set up allowed prior to that time.  Pitches are £5 on the day.
