Henley children to learn circus skills

All the fun of the circus will be coming to Henley later this week when children from south Warwickshire learn a new set of skills.

Youngsters from Wootton Wawen C of E Primary School, Claverdon Primary School, Welford-on-Avon Primary School and Henley High School will be learning the tricks of the circus.

They are taking part in a Super Learning Day, organised by Warwickshire County Council’s University of the First Age. Among the skill they will be learning are scarf juggling, plate spinning, peacock feather balancing, and human pyramid building.

The University of the First Age (UFA) emphasises how we all learn differently.  This is just one of the Warwickshire UFA ‘Super Learning’ Days running in the five areas of the county.

Extended Learning manager Stella Bolitho said: “Some children may struggle with traditional lessons and the University of the First Age helps show them that they can learn things if they approach things differently. The circus skills Super Learning Day will give them the chance to have fun while getting a different learning perspective.”
