Bookstart babies reunited
Bookstart is celebrating its 10th birthday with a celebration at Rugby Library on Thursday 6 April in the afternoon.
Bookstart started off as a pilot called Babies need Books in Rugby, Wellesbourne and Camp Hill in Nuneaton.
The afternoon’s events start with a Bounce and Rhyme session at 2pm followed at 3.00pm by a cake cutting ceremony by one of the children to receive a Bookstart pack ten years ago.
At 4.00pm, ten year old’s from local schools are invited to the library for a Circus Skills workshop by Playbox Theatre. Places for this event are limited to 25 and entrance is by ticket only. Tickets are free and must be collected in advance from Rugby Library. At the event children will get a £5 Book Token in exchange for their ticket.
Sandy Miller, Bookstart Co-ordinator, said
“We are thrilled to have reached ten years of Bookstart. The events at the library will give the chance for all children who have received book packs in that first year to be to be reunited and join our celebrations.”
