Serving up improvements in Keresley

A series of improvements are nearing completion to improve the outlook in the area of the shops in Rathbone Close, Keresley.

The physical improvements include new paving and the repair and cleaning of existing paving, improvements to the planted area including replanting and restocking, better lighting, removal of clutter, replacement of handrails and improved access arrangements.

A new community notice board and bins will also be provided. It is anticipated that the work to the Regeneration Zone, funded by Advantage West Midlands, will be complete by the end of March.

Cllr Frank McCarney, the Warwickshire County Councillor responsible for the Keresley area, said: “I’m delighted to see these improvements now completed in the shops area of Rathbone Close. Hopefully the local residents will appreciate the changes after the period of minor disruption during the works.”

This work is being funded by the RZ Neighbourhood Business Support Programme, which has been developed by partners Warwickshire County Council, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber (Business Link). Under the Programme retailers are also being offered business support (provided by partners Business Link) and grants for shop front improvements.
