A helping hand in improving Rugby’s public footpaths
Work through much of the winter months has seen members of the Ramblers Association, Rugby Group, volunteer their services in working with Warwickshire County Council to improve access on public rights of way in the Rugby area.
Once a month the group led by Bill Childs has turned out with a Community Paths Officer from the Countryside Access Team, Warwick, to install kissing gates and finger posts etc.
Cllr Martin Heatley, Warwickshire County Council’s Cabinet member for the Environment, said: “The group is pleased to be putting something back into an infrastructure which forms such an important part of their pastime.
“The work is being carried out under our Parish Paths Partnership scheme as part of a continuing commitment to improving access to the countryside.”
