Getting back to nature this spring time
Everything you ever wanted to know about enjoying wildlife can now be obtained at the click of a button.
The May edition of Warwickshire’s RINGs newsletter has just been published and is available to down load from Warwickshire County Council’s website.
The directory lists over 500 events planned for the forthcoming months and also provides contact details for over 60 local wildlife groups to join, plus local courses to enrol on. These include natural history societies and local branches of groups such as the RSPB and Butterfly Conservation.
There are local groups for nearly every patch of the Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull area and numerous opportunities for attending outdoor and indoor events.
According to Steven Falk, Senior Keeper of Natural History for Warwickshire County Council, this is a unique resource; “I am not aware of any other county where such detailed information is so instantly available. This is a unique directory, which Warwickshire County Council is keen to make available to as many people as possible in Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull.
“So whether you’re interested in surveying the moths in your garden, turning detective to trace the survival of the dormouse – or simply country walks and bird watching… there’s something here for nature lovers of all ages and abilities”.
The newsletter can be downloaded from: http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/rings It is published every January, May and September.
