Volunteers for Warwick
Residents in the Warwick District are being called to action at Kenilworth Library next week.
The library is hosting an event with the Council for Voluntary Services (CVS) in the hopes that more members of the public will lend a hand and have a go at volunteering.
The event will be held on Thursday 4 May between 10.30am and 12pm and Chris Lancaster from the local CVS will be the guest speaker. She will be on hand afterwards to answer any questions and give people advice about volunteering. Refreshments will be provided and the event is free.
Tracy Brown, Senior Library Assistant with responsibility for Community Services for Warwickshire County Council said: “Volunteering can involve lots of different aspects so everyone has something to offer and everyone can gain a sense of achievement and pride from spending a little time helping the others in their community. CVS aims to match local needs with local available skills and we are working in partnership to help find more volunteers to meet these needs.”
Chris Lancaster, Volunteer Centre Manager for the Council For Voluntary Service in Warwick District said: “The coffee morning will be a great way to find out more about volunteering, how to get involved and what opportunities there are in the local area. Just pop in to see what‘s going on.”
