Welcome to Warwickshire Artsweek

Warwickshire farmer and printmaker, Bill Yardley is taking part in this year’s Warwickshire Artsweek by opening his own studio exhibiting his etchings of farm animals and wildlife subjects.

Bill is one of many local artists who will be exhibiting in 180 venues across Warwickshire including galleries, artists studios, shops, cafes and many other places. He has taken part in Artsweek for the past two events and is looking forward again to joining in this celebration of the visual arts and crafts across the county of Warwickshire.

Warwickshire Artsweek is a biannual celebration of visual arts and crafts by Warwickshire residents and this year’s events take place from 1 – 16 July. Come along and take full advantage of seeing art and crafts being demonstrated, attend workshops, meet artists and to buy locally produced art and crafts.

Visitors can pick up a trail map and a brochure from any venue taking part, plus libraries, tourist information offices, galleries, shops and the Artsweek website to plan a day out in Warwickshire. Free trail maps and brochures featuring all the artists taking part are available covering
· North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth areas
· Rugby and surrounding areas
· Warwick area including Leamington and Kenilworth
· Stratford and surrounding areas including Alcester and Shipston

Artsweek organisers have organised a prize draw – full details at participating venues, and on maps, brochures and the website. This prize is a framed etching by Bill Yardley.

Brenda Boardman, Visual Arts & Crafts Business Development Officer
for Warwickshire & Solihull said,
“We are delighted to announce that is year’s Artsweek will have more artists exhibiting than ever before. We are very lucky to be able to offer such an attractive prize for the draw and hope that people will be encouraged to visit as many venues as they can.”

Three major Warwickshire Galleries are hosting “taster” exhibitions of artists work – Rugby Art Gallery & Museum, Leamington Spa Gallery & Museum and Stratford Gallery above the Leisure Centre.  Showcase exhibition dates and times are posted on the Galleries and Warwickshire Artsweek websites or by calling the Galleries.
