A little bit of Dunchurch history

On Friday, 9 June at 10am, Dunchurch Library will be receiving a donation of transcripts of local parish registers that have been transcribed by the former Dunchurch Historical Society.

The registers have been donated to the library by Gillian Edwards, the widow of the late Gwyn Edwards and the items are donated in his memory.

Genealogists and anyone interested in local family history will be able to use these records to discover their family history roots in Dunchurch from 1538.
Following on from receiving these records, a Family History Group will start in the library which will meet initially on the 2nd Friday of each month from 10.00am -12.30pm.

Chirs Edgson, Local studies librarian said
“The registers will be a valuable addition to the resources at Dunchurch Library. Anyone who wants to find out more about investigating their family history is welcome to come along to the library’s new Family History Group.”
