Local artist distorts reality at Warwickshire Museum
A new exhibition is opening at Warwickshire Museum this month to celebrate Warwick International Festival, Warwickshire Artsweek and Architecture Week.
The latest work of critically acclaimed local artist James Vinciguerra, entitled ‘Distorted Reality’, will be on display from Saturday 17 June until Sunday 16 July 2006 at the museum and is free to attend.
James grew up in Norton Lindsey, near Warwick, went to school in Stratford upon Avon, college in Leamington Spa and graduated from Anglia University in 1996 with a degree in Illustration.
Several of the pieces in the exhibition are new and depict local scenes of Warwick, Leamington Spa and Stratford. There are also pictures of Cornwall and Amsterdam together with a selection of his little seen drawings of nudes.
Emma House, from Warwickshire County Council’s Museum Services said: “James is a very popular artist achieving increasing recognition for his work. He creates exciting art, which is expressionistic and depicts architectural landscapes. His playful and original way of seeing the world will amuse and enrapture. It really is a must see exhibition."
All work is for sale and there will also be some unframed prints available.
