Summer fire safety is just hotting up!
With summer almost here, Firefighters from Rugby have teamed up with local businesses to launch the beginning of their summer fire safety campaign.
As part of the campaign, firefighters will be holding a demonstration and awareness event at Blooms Garden centre on Sunday 4 June at 2.15pm.
As well as fire safety advice, there will also be a free barbecue up for grabs. All you have to do is answer a few simple questions based on the advice given on the day. Entries will be placed into a draw and the first entry to list the correct answers to all of the questions will start their summer in style. The draw will take place on Monday 12th June.
Firefighter Richard Hammer said:
“The main aim of the campaign is to catch people just before the summer arrives. Statistics show that more people buy barbecues at this time of year and so we want to catch as many of those people as possible to ensure that they know how to use their barbecue safely. The event is open to everyone, so even if you already have a barbecue, please feel free to come along and ask for some advice.”
Homebase, Wilkinsons and Blooms have generously donated barbecues and summer equipment in support of the campaign.
