Murder in the Library!

Join in with the murder, mystery and suspense happening in Warwickshire Libraries this summer. ‘Murder they Wrote’ is a series of crime author events and mystery reads taking place across the county from 3 June until 17 June.

The programme includes body in the library events at Rugby and Nuneaton Libraries, and talks by author Margaret Murphy of the Murder Squad about the crime scene and forensics at Kenilworth and Southam Libraries on Wednesday 14 June at 2.30pm and 7.30pm respectively.

All libraries will be handing out ‘Mystery Reads’ to customers, and staff will be on hand to help people choose what to read next and to help with information on the latest crime authors.

The programme is launched with a joint crime day organised between Warwickshire County Council and Atherstone Booktown on Saturday 3 June. The day will be launched in Atherstone Library by Councillor Anne Forwood and there will be events in bookshops, a Mini-mystery Writing Competition and a Murder Mystery Banquet.

Alison McKellar, Principal Librarian Reader and Stock Development said,
“Come along to the events in Atherstone and look out for other crime fiction events in libraries in the rest of the county. All the libraries will be promoting the ‘Mystery Reads’ in June so if you have not tried crime fiction before now is your chance.”
