Advice comes to parents direct
A new advice service for working parents in Warwickshire has been launched.
Parent Direct aims to support working parents by providing information about family rights such as; maternity, paternity and adoption leave, flexible working and financial issues.
The service is free and is run by Warwickshire County Council’s Children’s Information Service.
Information will be available by calling 0845 090 8044.
Trained advisers will be able to talk to enquirers about their individual situations and offer support by providing information, explaining options available and suggesting next steps as well as assisting with any paperwork.
The service is about providing enquirers with the right information to make the best choices for their family and their employer.
Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “The range of options available to parents these days can be bewildering and the aim of this new service is to offer support to parents by providing clear and impartial advice and information.
“Parent Direct will complement the information, advice and guidance the Children’s Information Service gives to Warwickshire parents and carers about childcare, early education and family support matters. CIS already provides a valuable service across the county answering over 3000 enquiries from parents each year.”
