Warwickshire school children have now got access to an amazing range of original and replica objects, documents, photographs and aerial photographs thanks to a Warwickshire County Council bid to the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA).

The project has been running since July 2005 and has seen over 400 school pupils enjoy learning with these wonderful resources.

The funding, awarded to the County Museums and the County Record Office from the Cultural Entitlement Education Development Programme, has enabled the development of links with secondary schools in the county to support the teaching of the KS3 history and English curriculum.

Kari Gordon, Head of Heritage Education, said“We are delighted to see the successful completion of this project which has enabled us to develop links with secondary schools throughout Warwickshire. Young people have been introduced in an exciting interactive way to different museum disciplines, the role of archaeology and the role and purpose of the County Record Office.”
