Future cycle racers offered chance to win top bike

The time is fast approaching when the Warwick Cycle Races will once again descend on the streets of the historic town, and this year ahead of the event cycling fans are being offered the chance to pick up their own deluxe racing bike.

Thousands of leaflets are currently being distributed across Warwickshire, including libraries, leisure centres and information centres to promote the races, taking place on Sunday, September 17 in Warwick.

And on the rear of every leaflet is the chance to win a £490 Claude Butler racing bike, compliments of Hinckley Cycling Centre, complete with alloy frame, carbon fibre forks, STI levers and16 speed gears. The winning entrant will be drawn after the last race of the day (approximately 5.30pm)

Warwick Cycle Races offers the chance to watch Britain’s elite cyclists battle it out on a closed circuit race through Warwick’s streets.

This year the event will be bigger and better with fun for all the family. The TravelWise cycle races get underway with the first race at midday.

Cllr Martin Heatley, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “Cycling is a great way to get fit, commute and generally enjoy the glorious Warwickshire countryside, no wonder we are home to one of the nation’s most well-respected closed street cycle races.

“As well as an opportunity to see some of the best cyclists in the country racing, visitors this year will be treated to a host of family entertainment – and of course there’s still the chance to win yourself your own racing bike.”
