Pots of Pennies
Warwickshire Museums issues a challenge to young visitors
Design a medieval penny as part of the launch of a new ‘visitor challenge’ at the Market Hall Museum, Warwick on Saturday 22nd July.
Museum staff will be giving out challenge cards to all young visitors. To complete the challenge they’ll have to collect five stamps by visiting the Market Hall Museum, St John’s Museum and taking part in at least one more ‘What’s on ‘event in the next twelve months.
Children completing the challenge will be awarded a free badge and entered into a prize draw.
The launch of the visitor challenge coincides with the Museum’s ‘Pots of Pennies’ event, held as part of National Archaeology Week (15th-23rd July 2006).
As well as collecting a stamp for their challenge card, children taking part in the event will be able to rummage through some medieval rubbish, design their own medieval penny to take home and find out more about money in the past.
Just drop in between 11.00am and 1.00pm. Joining the activity will cost £1 per child. The visitor challenge card is free.
