Closure for resurfacing in Europa Way
Warwickshire County Council is due to carry out major carriageway structural resurfacing works on the A452 Europa Way, Leamington, between the Heathcote/Gallows Hill Roundabout and Greys Mallory/Banbury Rd Spur junction.
The works, which will be carried out under night time road closures, are due to commence on Monday evening and are expected to take two weeks to complete.
To avoid major traffic disruption and allow the councils contractor Carillion Highways Maintenance to carry out the works in safety the road will be closed each evening at 7.30pm and reopened to traffic at 6.30am during the two week period.
During the night time road closures a signed alternative route will be available via A425 Banbury Road, A425 Myton Road and A452 Europa Way for northbound traffic and in the opposite direction for southbound traffic.
Tony Iwanikiw, County Highways Network Team Manager, said: “The road is one of the busiest in the area with around 2500 vehicles using it during peak hour periods.
“It was therefore essential that these works were carefully planned to minimise traffic disruption and provide a safe working environment for the contractors’ workforce. Taking these considerations into account nighttime working during the school summer holiday period was the least disruptive option available to us.
“If all goes to plan the £200,000 works will be completed by the morning of Saturday 5th August.”
