And the winner is...

Strategic Director of Community Protection and County Fire Officer, William Brown is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Dennis Lawrence Garden Competition as… Bedworth's Training and Development Centre and Studley Fire Station.

County Fire Officer, William Brown said:
“Well done to everyone who took part in the competition and put in their own time designing, creating and tending the gardens. The stations have worked very hard to create floral tributes, which can be enjoyed by people within their local community. Particular praise goes to the winners of this year’s competition, Bedworth Training and Development Centre (wholetime) and Studley Fire Station (retained). The standard of the gardens were very high and both stations should be proud to have achieved first place.”

Technical officer at the training centre, Alan Holder said:
“We are really pleased to be the winners of this year’s competition. Firefighters from the station have put in a lot of their own time and effort to make sure that the gardens look good and people passing by have made lots of comments about how nice they think it is.”

William Brown chose the winner from 13 entries from stations from across the county. This is the seventh year that the competition has been run in memory of a former personnel officer of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, Dennis Lawrence.
