The summer just got hotter!

The summer will be hotting up for bright young sparks in North Warwickshire as they uncover the real facts on fire safety.

Children aged 11 – 14 from Queen Elizabeth School, Atherstone, Coleshill High School and the Young Firefighters Association will be learning about the dangers of fire and the devastating affects it can have at Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Services Summer Fire Safety Scheme from Monday 14 to Friday 18 August.

As well as trying their hand at firefighting they will also take part in a wide range of activities, which will not only challenge their team building skills, but also test their ability to solve problems and use effective communication to complete the tasks. As part of the tasks the young people will be visiting Beau Deserts Scout Camp and Drayton Manor Park.

Area Risk Officer, Scott Moultire said:
“The summer scheme was a huge success last year and thanks to a grant of £2,400 from Positive about Young People we are now able to run the scheme again.  As well as being great fun for the children we are hoping that they will think about the serious side of fire safety and learn from the lessons we will be teaching them to help them to stay safe in their home and at school.”
