New Partnership aims to make babies safer

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) are launching a new fire safety campaign targeting children so young that they are still in the womb!

The new partnership between WFRS and Warwick Hospital Community Midwives has been named ‘Baby Safe’ and is being launched this week at Warwick Hospital.

The main aim of the partnership is to target mums-to-be during their antenatal classes to offer a Free Home Fire Safety Check, which can be carried out before the baby is born.

Area Risk Manager, Simon Ellershaw said:
“Most parents have a checklist of things to do before their baby is born and this is just something else to be ticked off the list.  Having a Free Home Fire Safety Check will not only highlight any potential fire hazards in your home, but it will also give you piece of mind in time for the new arrival.”

WFRS have carried out free home fire safety checks in thousands of homes across the county. If you would like to find out more, then log onto http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/fireandrescue or call the information line on 01926 466282.
