Warwickshire Reads prove a hit with Local Studies enthusiasts

Warwickshire Libraries’ Local Studies Service is absolutely delighted with the success of its initiative to promote books about the local area.

Over the past few months the service has been spotlighting interesting local publications on their website. Some of the titles highlighted have included Bare Bottoms and Stinging Nettles, an insight into the life of village schools in North Warwickshire, by Susan K. Moore, and the County Roll of Honour by Kenneth Fowler. Details of previous selections can be accessed via the Warwickshire Reads archive.  The current selection is Foul Deeds and Suspicious Deaths in Stratford & South Warwickshire by local author Nick Billingham.

Susan Gray, Local Studies Librarian, who is responsible for this initiative said
“I am really pleased by the response that we have had from members of the public who have visited our site. This is an idea, which has proved to be very successful and popular. We are always pleased to promote local books and authors as well as signposting these publications, which we hold within our collections”
