Local people invited to design County Council Christmas card

If any budding artists have ever fancied having their work seen by a large audience, Warwickshire County Council may just have the answer.

The council is seeking local artists to produce a design to be used as the authority’s 2006 Christmas card.  There will be prizes for winners and runners up in each category.

Rules are simple: although there is one overall winner, there are two categories, one for under 16s and one for over 16s.  Entry is free and open to all Warwickshire residents and the style of design is free – crayons, coloured pencils and watercolours are all fine.  Words must not be included and designs should be submitted on a maximum size of A3 paper.

Councillor Alan Farnell, leader of Warwickshire County Council said:

“The Christmas card is sent far and wide.  Many of the recipients will be based outside the county so this is an excellent opportunity to represent the county and create a lasting impression.  We urge people to share their artistic talents with us and we hope that the winner will get a real sense of pride in seeing their work promoting the county.”

Entries must be submitted by midday on Thursday 9 November and delivered in person to
