Calling all parents!

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service is asking parents of young children to take advantage of a free Home Fire Safety Check before the Christmas celebrations begin.

For the last three years, Fire Fighters have been carrying out free, “Home Fire Safety Checks” in thousands of homes across the County.  To date, these checks have been aimed at the most vulnerable members of society.  To continue this theme, Fire Fighters from Stratford-upon-Avon are currently offering this free service to the parents and carers of the youngest members of our community.

Area Risk Officer, Jon Dixon said:
“Christmas is a really vulnerable time of year for most families as parents are rushing around trying to get their shopping done to beat the Christmas rush, which means that fire safety is generally the last thing on their mind.  However, with a documented increase in fires over celebration periods this is when it is needed most!”

So if you are a parent or you have responsibility for caring for young children, Home Fire Safety Checks can help you see the risk of fire before they start!

Firefighters will not cold call and all checks will be booked via the web or helpline. Fire Safety Checks include:
· Fire Safety Advice

· Escape Route Planning

· Kitchen Safety

· · Information relating to the safe use of: candles, heaters, electric blankets etc

· Fitting of smoke detectors where necessary and eligible
