Children’s Centre opens at Bedworth Heath Nursery School
Children set off sixty balloons at Bedworth Heath Nursery School when they celebrated the official opening of their new Children’s Centre on Monday 13 November.
Based at Bedworth Heath Nursery School, the new facility, which is one of three Children’s Centre sites in Bedworth Heath will offer extra services to provide a hub of learning, advice and activities for children and families.
The services include Play and Stay sessions, a Nurture Nursery, a Childminder Support group, a carers group, Bumps & Babies with advice and weighing facilities and a range of family education & support opportunities, including Positive Behaviour Management. The centre is also offering access to health visitors, speech and language therapists and JobCentre Plus.
The nursery has worked in partnership with Warwickshire County Council’s Children, Young People and Families Directorate, Newdigate and Goodyers End primary schools and Bedworth Heath Leisure and Activity Centre.
Headteacher Helen Ruffles said; “This a wonderful addition to what is already available in Bedworth Heath. Children’s early years are most important in terms of their overall development, wellbeing and future economic success and the local community and families are now well served by the opportunities & facilities on offer.”
Cllr John Burton, Warwickshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Schools, said: ”Families in Bedworth and the surrounding area will benefit greatly from these new facilities. The new base at Bedworth Heath is part of a countywide programme that will see children’s centres delivering improved and wider services to communities across Warwickshire.”
