Hall mark for Leamington Hastings

Children at Leamington Hastings C of E Primary School are enjoying a radical transformation at their school – they now have a hall.

A new classroom has been built at the school by Warwickshire County Council, allowing a room to be dedicated for use as a hall.

Headteacher Catriona Eckland said the impact was immediate after it opened following the half term break. It is officially being opened this Friday at 10am.

Mrs Eckland said: “It makes a huge difference. It gives us space for PE, for dining, and for children to use a larger area for skills such as role plays – which is very important, especially at Key Stage 1.

“This new multi-purpose space allows us to take a group out of their classroom and take part in activities that wouldn’t have been possible in the past.”

Cllr John Burton, Cabinet Member for Schools, said: “It is always a pleasure to be able to improve a school’s environment and this project will make a big difference to Leamington Hastings. The children are already enjoying the benefits and I am pleased that Warwickshire County Council has been able to help develop the facilities in this way.”
