Last chance for budding young journalists to enter competition

Young people in Warwickshire are being encouraged to get their voices heard and write about issues that affect their lives.

A competition organised by Warwickshire County Council in conjunction with BBC Coventry & Warwickshire is offering an amazing prize for any budding young journalist – a day ‘behind the scenes’ at the local radio station and an article published in Warwickshire View, the award winning council magazine that is distributed to every household in Warwickshire.

Anyone aged 11 to 18 in Warwickshire can enter the Young Journalist Competition, which has been organised to give young people a voice as part of this year’s Local Democracy celebrations.

Entrants can write about anything that affects their lives – whether it’s an issue facing their community or school, or a global issue such as climate change.  Articles must be 750 words or less and should be submitted by Friday 1st December. A panel of county councillors and journalists will judge the entries.
