Cylinder Amnesty comes to Rugby
Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service is urging residents in Rugby to take part in a two-week LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) cylinder amnesty.
As Christmas gets nearer many people start to clear out any unwanted clutter from their homes or garden sheds. So now is the time to get rid of any unwanted LPG cylinders by simply calling Rugby Fire Station on 01788 572727 and arrange for them to be removed free of charge by Fire Service Personnel.
Area Risk Officer, Tony Harris said:
“LPG when used and stored correctly is perfectly safe, however if you had a fire in your home with a LPG cylinder, the consequences could be disastrous. If you have any unwanted gas cylinders lying around your house, under the stairs, in the loft, garden or garage, then call the station and we will pick the cylinders up free of charge. Alternatively you can drop the cylinders into the station. “
The amnesty will run from Monday 4 December until Friday 15 December. For further information please contact the station on 01788 572727. For fire safety information please log onto http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/fireandrescue
