MBE For Warwickshire Consumer Advisor

Congratulations to Davinder Pangli, Senior Consumer Protection Officer for Warwickshire County Council’s Trading Standards Service who was recently awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Davinder was honoured with the award of Member of the British Empire in recognition of her community work in Coventry and Warwickshire.

“At Trading Standards, we are very proud of Davinder’s achievement. She has worked tirelessly to support consumers in Warwickshire for many years.

Thousands of local residents have benefited thanks to Davinder’s commitment to consumer advice in her 13 year career with Warwickshire County Council’s Trading Standards Service."

Davinder joined Warwickshire Trading Standards in 1993 and now holds the position of Senior Consumer Protection Officer, leading and supporting a team of Consumer Protection Officers to deliver consumer advice to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Previously Davinder worked for Coventry City Council as both a Housing Officer and Consumer Advice Officer.

In 1983 Davinder was appointed a Magistrate and continues to work in that capacity. She was instrumental in establishing the Coventry Criminality and Law Panel which was set up to work works with Local Community Leaders, Councillors, Police and Solicitors to improve law & order in Coventry.

Between 1995 and 2000, Davinder was appointed a Non-Executive Director of the Community Health Care Trust, and a Board Member and Chair of Quality Assurance, Complaints & Compliments and Equal Opportunities.  She also acted as a Mental Health Act manager and sat on appeals.
Later she was was appointed the Complaints Convener for the trust and dealt with complaints from patients and their families once the internal complaints procedure was exhausted.

From 1996 to 2002 Davinder was a Member of the management committee of Satkaar a day care centre for Asian elders in Leamington Spa.

Davinder lives in Coventry where she is married with three children and two grandchildren.
