Silver Surfers Launch at Warwick Library

A new group of silver surfers is being launched at Warwick Library on Tuesday 9 January.

Silver Surfers groups are aimed at those aged 50+ or carers of those who are over 50. Volunteers are available every week to offer support and assistance on using the computers in the library. More information on Silver Surfers is available at http://www.silversurfers.org.uk.

The sessions will take place in the library every Tuesday between 2-4pm.  Volunteers will be on hand to provide free assistance.

The new sessions will be launched at 1pm in Warwick Library by Councillor Marion Haywood.  All are welcome to attend and refreshments will be provided.

Alice Tomalin, information and community librarian, said:  “We have had an increased usership of computers and we are delighted to see that more and more of our older users have been taking advantage of the services provided.  These sessions are designed to give them the confidence to make the most out of the computers as well as to bring people together in an informal and pleasant environment.”

Anybody wishing to attend can call Dorothy Harry at Warwick Library on 01926 412189 or email her on dorothyharry@warwickshire.gov.uk
