Improvement works start soon in Crown Way

Improvements to footpaths are to get underway on Monday in the Crown Way area of Lillington.

The works in Crown Way and Cubbington Road, costing £15,000, will take approximately two weeks to complete.

The improvements are part of a larger £300,000 programme of highway maintenance works funded by a special additional highway maintenance funding allocation made available to the Warwick Area Committee by Warwickshire County Council.

Chair of the Warwick Area Committee and Ward Councillor, Sarah Boad, said: “The additional funding approved by the council earlier in this financial year is being targeted at local footway problem areas and a range of street lighting and drainage improvements.

“I am pleased to see that the planned footway works in the Crown Way Area will benefit the local community with improved surfaces at those busy locations serving the local shops, Dental Surgery, and Chemist on Cubbington Road.”

Other planned footway improvement works at Newbold Terrace, Queensway, Heathcote Lane and Southway will be carried out soon.

The works will be carried out for Warwickshire County Council by its term-maintenance contractor Carillion Highway Maintenance Limited.
