Free fire safety for the over 50’s
Warwickshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service will be providing free home fire safety advice for the over 50’s in a bid to reduce the risk of fire in homes across Rugby.
The community event will take place at the Claremont Centre, Clifton Road, Rugby on Monday 15 January. During the event Firefighters will be on hand to talk about fire safety in the home, answer any questions that you may have and even sign you up for a free home fire safety check should it be required.
The drop in session will run from 10am to 1pm and will be attended by a number of key agencies including Warwickshire police, Energy Efficiency and Age Concern.
Watch Manager, Andy Morgan said:
“The main aim of this event is to promote the services and key safety advice to people over 50. What we are looking to promote is the launch of the put it out campaign and let people know about the Free - Home Fire Check Service we provide. Fire kills, injures, and devastates thousands of homes each year and we would like to reduce that risk to residents in Rugby. The checks are free and only uniformed officers with a pre-arranged appointment will call.”
