Improvement works this week in Frankton

Improvements to footpaths get underway tomorrow in the Bourton Road area of Frankton.

The works, costing £27,000, are due to start tomorrow and will take approximately three weeks to complete.

The improvements are part of a larger £300,000 programme of highway maintenance works funded by a special additional highway maintenance funding allocation made available to the Rugby Area Committee by the County Council.

Chair of the Rugby Area Committee, Cllr John Vereker, said “The additional funding approved by the council earlier in this financial year is being targeted at local footway and carriageway problem areas in villages.

“Recently completed works include carriageway resurfacing in Monks Kirby, Frankton, Birdingbury and Broadwell, as well as a footway improvement scheme in Long Lawford.

“I am pleased to see that the planned footway works in Bourton Road Frankton will start this week and will benefit the local community and residents with an improved and safer footway surface.”

The works are being carried out for Warwickshire County Council by its term-maintenance contractor Carillion Highway Maintenance Limited.
