Sound of success for Stratford’s multi-talented maestro
A young music maestro from Stratford recently had to choose between three different instruments when she entered a Warwickshire County Council music scholarship scheme.
Multi-talented Ellie Gibbs of Bishopton Primary School has been awarded a Warwickshire County Music Service Scholarship for her hard work and dedication. The ten-year-old plays the clarinet in the Southern Area Orchestra, the Saxophone in the Intermediate Windband, and the Violin in the Intermediate String Orchestra.
Ellie now benefits from the Warwickshire County Council scheme that awarded her extended individual tuition for her chosen instrument for one year and helps further her musical studies. The only problem she faced was which instrument to choose for extended tuition.
Organised by Warwickshire County Council’s County Music Service, the Music Scholar Scheme encourages sixty gifted school children from around the county to build upon their talent and perform in youth ensembles and choirs.
Patricia Grimshaw, Southern Area Manager for the County Music Service said: “The scholarships are a wonderful way to recognise the efforts of our young musicians in Warwickshire. We congratulate our music scholars on their achievements and hope that the scheme will help them improve individually and collectively.”
