Made in Warwickshire 2D exhibition calls for local artists
Warwickshire County Arts Service and Stratford College are calling for Visual Artists and Crafts Designers and makers to apply to take part in an art exhibition to promote talented new and emerging Warwickshire based artists.
The selling event is taking place at Stratford Gallery, above the Leisure Centre in Stratford, and is open to the public from 19 April to 20 May 2007.
Applications to take part in the event are invited from Warwickshire based visual artists and crafts/designers/makers, arts professionally trained or finishing training in 2007 and in the first five years of setting up their full or part-time practice. Local trainee artists completing an arts course during 2007 are also eligible.
If selected, a handling fee of £5.00 per artist is due to Stratford College and a commission fee of 20% (10% students) will be charged on sales. The Gallery is an open public space, therefore work must be appropriate for family audiences.
Brenda Boardman, Visual Arts & Crafts Business Development Officer for Warwickshire commented: “This is an excellent opportunity for new and emerging artists to show and sell their work locally with an added opportunity to run workshops and talks at Stratford College and/or the Gallery”.
Artists interested in being considered should send your photos or a CD of a small portfolio of work with CV and artists statement to Brenda Boardman, Visual Arts & Crafts Business Development Officer, Warwickshire County Council County Arts Service, Barrack Street, Warwick CV34 4TH.
