Half term events for all the family

A series of events, organised by Warwickshire Museums, will take children back to yesteryear this half term.

Among the events is the chance to see archaeological finds from around the Alcester area dating back to Anglo Saxon times and for kids to make their own artefacts.

Discovering who St Valentine was and making a Valentine love token might be another way for children to spend their time whilst making a Victorian garden will also while away a few hours in the garden – without even going outside.  For those who will be looking to get in the great outdoors children can make their own kites and gliders.

The week’s activities culminate in a Fossil Frenzy which involves playing fossil bingo, matching fossils to animals and making fossils, at Warwick Market Hall Museum on Saturday 17 February.

Each event is £1.50 and places should be reserved by calling 01926 412034.

Rebecca Williams, community education worker with Warwickshire Museums’ Heritage Education said:  “These events are a wonderful chance to occupy children and will be great fun for them too.  We hope that many families will come along and have fun together.”
