There’s snow place like country parks for fun and games

Closed schools meant one thing to many youngsters, plenty of fun and games at Warwickshire County Council’s country parks.

The parks proved to be big attractions yesterday with snowmen appearing and sledges hitting the slopes.

Sally Silk, Country Parks Visitor Manager, said: "All eight of Warwickshire’s Country Parks have remained open during the snow and visitors have been having great fun! Snowball fights, sledging and snowmen have all been going on.

“However, on a more serious note, parents are advised to keep children well away from the edges of the lakes which are still frozen but which, with a covering of snow on top, look just like the rest of the snow covered park; the ice is not thick and it is very dangerous to play close to the areas of water."
