Warwick Cycle Races confirmed for September

TravelWise Cycle Races has been confirmed for September following last year’s record-breaking success.

This will once again see some of the world’s best riding the circuit of historic landmarks in Warwick.

The event, which promises to be bigger and better than last year’s, will take place in the centre of Warwick on Sunday, September 16.

Planning is underway on the multitude of activities to join the top elite cycling action from international names.

As well as racing last year’s event saw plenty of sideshow entertainment as the centre of Warwick was transformed into one of the biggest closed road cycling events in the country.

The event is being organised by Warwickshire County Council in partnership with British Cycling, Warwick District Council and TravelWise.

The National TravelWise Association, of which Warwickshire County Council is a member, is a network of sectors, including local authorities, health sector, academic sector and passenger transport executives working together to promote healthy and sustainable transport.

Cllr Martin Heatley, Warwickshire County Council’s Cabinet member for the Environment, said: “Last year’s event was a huge success, and I’m looking forward to seeing how this year progresses things further.

“Cycling is a great leisure pursuit, way to commute, and way to keep healthy. This event is a wonderful showcase of some of the best cycling talent out there.”
