Parents to nominate best childcare providers

Parents are being invited to nominate the county’s best childcare providers for a special awards scheme.

The Warwickshire Childcare Awards are organised by the County Council to recognise and celebrate the county’s best pre-schools, children’s centres, day nurseries, out of school clubs and childminders.  This year parents as well as practitioners have the opportunity to nominate childcare providers. The awards for 2007 will be presented in eight categories:
· Childminder of the Year
· Childminder Partnership of the Year
· Childcare Employer of the Year
· Children’s Centre of the Year
· Integrated Care & Education Provider of the Year
· Student Placement of the Year
· School Age Childcare Provider of the Year
· Business Development Award

But those who wish to nominate are being urged to act fast as the deadline for entries is 28 February 2007. Further information and application forms can be obtained from the awards team on 01926 742220.

Ruth Holwell, Early Years and Childcare Promotions Officer for Warwickshire County Council, said: “We are looking forward to celebrating the high standards of childcare which can be found in Warwickshire. Whether you want to nominate an individual childminder, a small business such as a nursery, or even a larger children’s centre, we want to hear from you.”

The winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony in June 2007.
