Buses diverted onto new Barford Bypass

Buses will this week be diverted onto the new Barford Bypass for about seven weeks as a result of roadworks.

The A429 between Sherbourne and Barford is to close for seven weeks for culvert reconstruction. This is expected to take place this week and will coincide with the opening of the Barford Bypass to traffic.

The new bypass will be open for the duration of the work and will be used by service 18 which will not operate via the village centre.

Three temporary stops will be located at either end and in the middle of the bypass. Those with poor mobility will be able to use Racing to Get There between 10am and 4pm on weekdays but will have to pre book the day before. They will not need to register and will be carried free of charge.

School children travelling on service 18 to Warwick, Leamington or Stratford Schools, on service 524 to Aylesford or service 320 to Kineton High School will be picked up or set down at Wasperton Lane/Sandy Way. The Joseph Arch stops will not be served.

Any queries about the alterations to the service should be made to Warwickshire County Council’s passenger transport operations team on 01926 412760.
