Improvements keep on coming for Nuneaton and Bedworth

Neighbourhood shopping areas across Nuneaton and Bedworth have been seeing a transformation as facelift operations get underway.

Last year saw two environmental improvement schemes in the retail areas of Rathbone Close in Keresley and Bulkington Road in Bedworth completed, and as part of the Regeneration Zone Neighbourhood Business Support Porgramme – funded by Advantage West Midlands - three more environmental improvements schemes are getting underway.

These are to the retail areas in Pinetree Road in Bedworth, School Lane in Bedworth and Chapel End in Nuneaton.

Work has started in School Lane and work will start in Pinetree Road and Chapel End on Monday. They will all be completed by the end of March.

This work is being funded from the RZ Neighbourhood Business Support Programme, which has been developed by partners Warwickshire County Council, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber (Business Link). Under the Programme retailers are also being offered business support (provided by partners Business Link) and grants improvements to shops.

Cllr Chris Saint, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, said: “In a relatively short space of time these projects are transforming these community focal points. Hopefully we will see businesses thrive in these areas as more people take advantage of their local facilities.”
