Dr Bus picks up valuable comments

Comments came flooding in yesterday when people were given the chance to learn more about the county’s bus services while having their say on how they believe things could be improved in the future.

Warwickshire County Council held a `Dr Bus’ surgery today from 10.30am until 2pm outside Shire Hall in Warwick, offering people the chance to chat with representatives from the county council and key bus operators in person about services in Warwick District.

Some of the feedback included praise for using low floor buses; positive feedback on the introduction of free passes in the county; and the choices of destinations were also highlighted.

The surgery also allowed people to find out more about timetables and the services available.

The consultation took place on Warwickshire County Council’s newly converted exhibition bus, which aims to make information on services more readily available around Warwickshire.

Cllr Martin Heatley, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “Warwickshire County Council’s Transport Operations Team works extremely hard with bus companies to ensure the best possible service is provided, in order to achieve this,  we intend to extend the surgeries across the county.’’
