Chamber Music Festival hits the right note in Rugby

Talented young musicians entertained a full house to celebrate the 21st Chamber Music Festival organised by Warwickshire County Council’s Music Service.

The concert, which took place at St. George’s Church, Hillmorton, featured 25 ensembles representing over 100 groups that took part in the three-day celebration of music making in Rugby schools.

The performers represented 18 different local schools including all of the secondary schools in the area.  Friends and family enjoyed a musical journey with performances including children who had just started learning through to the most accomplished young musicians in the area.

Rock bands followed woodwind quartets whilst mini Mozarts followed on from percussion groups.

The Chamber Music Festival is unique to Warwickshire and is a highly regarded celebration of young people and the talent they have in abundance.

More than 2,000 pupils performed in 12 separate area Chamber Music Festivals across the county. The only rule for the festival is that each performer plays an individual part – as that is what makes it chamber music.

The festival is organised and adjudicated by the County Music Service, which is part of Warwickshire County Council.
